Stairlift Installation & Removal

Care and Repair can now offer the following stair lift services:   Stair lift removal If you have an unwanted stair lift we will remove it for you. If the lift is less than 5 years old we will remove it free of charge. If it is over 5 years old we will remove it and make a charge depending upon the location.   Refurbished Stair Lifts If we have a lift available we can sell and install a refurbished lift. The re-installed stairlift will be no more than 5 years old and will come with a 3 month warranty; the cost will be £700.00 for a straight run stairlift, there is an option to purchase a further 9 month warranty and we also offer a breakdown service and a 6 monthly service option.   If we do not have a refurbished unit suitable we can possibly offer you a new one, details below;   Funded by:

New Stairlifts As we do not always have suitable re-furbished stairlifts in stock we are now able to supply and install a new Minivator Simplicity 950 stairlift at a cost of £1200.00. Frequently Asked Questions

When purchasing a re-furbished or new stairlift from Mendip Care and Repair Ltd.

1. How long will I have to wait for the survey to be carried out? We try to do the survey with in a week of initial contact at a time convenient to the client.

2. Once the survey has been carried out, what is the next step? Our engineer will inform the stairlift administrator if there is a suitable re-furbished stairlift in stock. If there is, the administrator will contact the client by letter/telephone to inform of prices and how much of a non-refundable deposit is required.

3. What happens if you do not have a suitable re-furbished stairlift in stock?  There is the option to purchase a new model at a slightly higher price. Again the administrator will write to the client explaining the costs and the amount of non-refundable deposit required.

4. How long will I have to wait from paying my deposit to the stairlift being installed? If you are having a re-furbished stairlift, we try to get the installation arranged as quickly as possible and aim to have the stairlift installed with in 7-10 working days. If you are having a new model, we have to order the stairlift and wait for it to arrive. This usually takes around 5 days and we book the installation around the delivery time. We aim to have the starlit fitted with in 10-14 working days

5. Are there any hidden extras that I should be aware of? No, there are certain options available to you, such as purchasing a 6 monthly service option, an annual service option or an extra 9 month warranty (re-furbished stairlifts only).  The prices and terms of these options can be found in the information leaflet, which is sent to the client on their initial enquiry.

6. Do either of the stairlifts come with a warranty? Yes, the re-furbished stairlifts come with a 3 month warranty, there is an option to purchase a further 9 month warranty, and the new stairlifts come with a one year warranty.

7. Are there any reasons why I might not be suitable to have a stairlift fitted in my property? We do not always have suitable stairlifts in stock and all stairlifts have a weight limit on them. The Minivator 950 has a limit of 19 stone and some of the re-furbished ones have the slightly higher weight limit of 21 stone.

8. What happens when I no longer require the stairlift? We will happily remove the stairlift for you.
